Best Buddies Reservoir Ride

Starting from the Hardwick Winery, this ride will roll through the Quabbin Park together with the Pedal Pushers then rolling farther east and north to sample the early car free regions of Hardwick and the new elements of the Mass Central Rail Trail. The Easy Riders enjoy the park before then exploring the Swift River Valley and returning through Ware. Both groups will enjoy the majestic views of the Reservoir from atop the Goodnough Dike, the Quabbin Overlook, and Spillway and the Winsor Dam. And be on the watch for both Golden and Bald Eagles. After decades of their populations declining due to the use of DDT, the first eagles were transplanted from Canada to the Quabbin. Those original eagles have spawned the rejuvenation of the species throughout New England. But the Quabbin remains one of the best areas to view the large eagles.
