Beginning at Holyhead and culminating in the vibrant city of Cardiff, the MTC CYMRUN route guarantees an unforgettable experience. Runners will kick off this incredible journey by touching the sea waters at Holyhead before navigating the picturesque landscapes of Wales. The route graciously extends beyond Cardiff to the iconic Barry Island Bay, offering participants an invigorating challenge against a backdrop of breathtaking scenery.
Ensure Visibility and Comfort:
Each competitor will be outfitted in personalized hi-viz technical t-shirts and a jacket, courtesy of URL, emblazoned with their name, the year, and the race name. Our esteemed head sponsors, Mount to Coast, proudly provide high-quality footwear to all participants, ensuring they are race-ready.
Participation Guidelines:
Participation in the MTC CYMRUN is both a privilege and a challenge. Competitors must maintain a minimum pace of 4 mph throughout the course and are restricted from continuing past 22:00 each day. URL's expert team will ensure the safety of each runner, withdrawing those deemed unfit to continue. Competitor numbers are strictly limited to 20, making this an exclusive opportunity for dedicated ultra-runners.
Eco-Conscious Requirements:
Aligned with our commitment to sustainability, the MTC CYMRUN is a Cup-Free event. Runners must bring their own re-useable cups, which are conveniently available in our online store.
Accommodation and Hospitality:
Following an intense day of racing, competitors will find solace in the accommodations organized by URL from the end of Day 1 to Day 5. Shared rooms in selected hostels, hotels, and B&Bs provide comfort and camaraderie along the route, ensuring every athlete has access to essential facilities. Competitors are responsible for securing their own stays at Holyhead and post-event at Barry Island. Private rooms are available by prior arrangement.
