About the event

The annual Ultra Skyrunning Madeira (USM) event features five thrilling races, with the highlight being the Madeira Sky Race (MSR). This prestigious event was part of the Skyrunner® World Series of the ISF - International Skyrunning Federation in 2016, cementing Madeira Island and the municipality of Santana as key players in the world of Skyrunning. In 2017, the USM event added a new challenge with the introduction of the Santana Vertical Kilometer®, joining the exclusive Vertical Kilometer® World Circuit. In 2023, this event will mark its seventh edition, offering participants an unforgettable and demanding Vertical Kilometer race in one of the most stunning locations in the world.
