Experience the thrill of swimming in one of Europe's most breathtaking settings with X-WATERS Montenegro. This unique event offers participants the chance to swim from the picturesque town of Perast to Risan (4.5 km) or embark on a more challenging loop from Risan to Perast and back (7 km) in the stunning Kotor Bay, known as Europe's southernmost fjord. The warm, calm waters provide the perfect conditions for swimmers, while the surrounding mountains offer awe-inspiring views. Along the route, you'll pass between two remarkable islands: St. George, which hosts a historic Benedictine abbey, and "Gospa od Škrpjela" (Our Lady of the Rocks), the only artificial island in the Adriatic. This island, an emblem of the local resistance against Kotor's dominance, was created by the people of Perast using shipwrecks and stones contributed by passing ships. The Church of the Mother of God on the island is a highlight of the bay, drawing visitors from around the globe.

Course highlights

7 k Participants will start at Risan beach from the starting camp. They will move towards the island of Our Lady of the Rocks, passing buoys on the left (the buoy should appear on your right). They will swim between the islands of St. George and Our Lady of the Rocks, making a complete round around the second island, and will go back passing buoys on the left (the buoy should appear on your right). Start and finish are in the same place at Risan beach. 4,5 k Participants gather in the starting camp at the Risan beach. Then they will be delivered by bus to the starting point in Perast. They start from the beach. After the start, the participants will move towards the islands. They swim between the islands, turn and make a full round around Our Lady of the Rocks island and swim towards the finish. The finish is at Risan beach. 1 mile (1852 m) Participants will start at Risan beach from the starting camp. They will move in a triangle passing buoys on the left (the buoy should appear on your right). Start and finish are in the same place. 500 m & X-JUNIORS 500 Participants will start and finish at Risan beach. The course is a simple loop marked by buoys, ensuring a safe and enjoyable swim. Ideal for beginners or those seeking a shorter, relaxed distance.
