Riley Cook set a new course record by 16 seconds, with his time of 1:06:10 in the fifth running of the Hobble Half Marathon in Springville, Utah.
The USATF certified race takes runners from the mountains of the Unita National Forest through Hobble Creek Canyon.
Benjamin Van Beekum, the only other runner to finish under an hour and 10 minutes, took second with a time of 1:07:24.
Tyler Lawson (1:12:17) narrowly defeated Justin Park (1:12:53) for third.
In the women’s race, Stephanie Evensen scored the victory with her 1:22:35 finish.
Runner-up Ashley Anderson was next with a time of 1:24:50.
Third place saw a tight finish a Carlie Palmer (1:28:18) came in eight seconds ahead of Rebecca Anderson (1:28:26).
