About the event
This event supports Consider Haiti, a 501c3 organization that promotes the health and welfare of children in Haiti. Both morning rides will start and finish at the Patton Parker House (279 Chestnut Street, Asheville, NC 2880). Parking will be located in the parking lot on the north side of Chestnut across the street from the Patton Parker House and on legal street parking.
The Gravel Ride is self-supported from a mechanical perspective. There will be 1 rest stop with food and hydration at the top of Upper Herron. The route is 38 miles with 4,000 feet of climbing. See the route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43523585
There will be timed gravel sections on the Gravel Ride. While the ride in its entirety is "non-competitive" these timed gravel sections will be ranked and the lowest combined times over all 3 timed gravel sections will be recognized at the evening dinner and fireworks viewing. In order to be ranked over these timed gravel segments, riders must have a public Strava account and upload their ride by 3:00pm on July 4, 2024.
The 3 segments are:Vance Gap - https://www.strava.com/segments/24872651?oq=vance
