Ladakh Marathon

Ran the half marathon on Sept 8,2019. Arrived 2 days prior and immediately felt the thin oxygen. The climate was warm but too dry. The route was scenic but could have had better toilet arrangements in terms of numbers. We were either running uphill or downhill, so added to the challenge.

Even a half was challenging and is not the same as elsewhere. Locals who find walking a km difficult were fascinated that we came all the way to run a half. Very friendly locals. The last 3 kms were killing as it was climb all the way. It's a prized finishers medal for me.

Excellent run… will be back here for Khardungla Challenge in 2025
