EXCITING NEWS FROM MOTHERS MATTER:  Our 11th Mothers Matter 5K Run & Walk will be a hybrid event! 

We’re thrilled to announce that we're back at Washington Lake Park in Sewell, NJ. While our annual Mothers Matter 5K Run/Walk is well-known to locals, we really loved how our Virtual Run & Walk allowed participants from all over the country to join in.  Our 2022 Mothers Matter event truly has something for everybody!

Here’s how you can participate:

·      IN PERSON RUNNERS

Pre-Raceday Registration Fee: $30 (Children 14 and under - $15)
Raceday Fee: $35 (Children 14 and under-$15)

Runners check-in and participate at Washington Lake Park in Sewell, NJ. 

Receive a goody bag and 1 complimentary raffle ticket for the basket drawing. 

·      IN PERSON WALKERS

Pre-Raceday Registration Fee: $25 (Children 14 and under - $15)
Raceday Fee:  $30 (Children under 14- $15)

Walkers check-in and participate at Washington Lake Park in Sewell, NJ. 

Receive a goody bag and 1 complimentary raffle ticket for the basket drawing. 

·      VIRTUAL RUNNERS AND WALKERS

Registration Fee: $25

Runners select their own 5K course and submit their time.   Receive an E-Bib when registering and E- Certificate when submitting their time.

Walkers choose a distance goal and go for it! 

·      NEW! SLEEPWALKERS

Registration Fee: $25

Sleepwalkers - you just do your thing!

WE’RE FORGING A NEW PATH at WASHINGTON LAKE PARK!

We'll be using a new chip timed course this year that is mostly on flat, paved paths in and around the scenic Washington Lake Park.    The top male and female runners receive a cash prize and trophy.  The top 3 male and female runners in all age groups receive a medal.   And we've just added a One Mile Walk option for walkers.  Walkers can go the distance on the 5K Course or choose the One Mile Course.  

The Fabulous Mothers Matter Gift Basket Raffle at the 5K will be bigger and better than ever.  There are more than 50 Fabulous  Raffle Baskets ranging in value from $50 to $450.    Every in-person registered runner and walker will receive a free raffle ticket! 

In addition to the raffle we’ll have events for kids, a patriotic flag ceremony, an awards presentation for winning runners, a DJ and more!  We begin with the Washington Township Police Color Guard Flag Ceremony and National Anthem sung by Melanie Steward of Kidz4Cuz  with on-going entertainment by DJ "Swing & Sway with Jimmy K" and the Kidz4Cuz singers    As always, our Mothers Matter 5K Run & Walk will be a wonderful, festive event.

On-line registration only at runsignup.com now through October 20th.  (Register prior to Oct.1 to be guaranteed T-Shirt). Virtual and Sleepwalker registration is open through October 23rd.

Race Day Registration opens at 7:30  a.m.  / Rain or Shine

Washington Lake Park Runners and Walkers will receive their T-Shirts and Race Day gift bag at registration.   Times for the chip timed 5K Run will be posted by 10:00 a.m.  Prizes awarded to the top male and female finishers and awards to 1st place male and female runners in all age groups.

All Virtual Runners receive an E-Bib when registering and an E-Certificate with posting their time.  Virtual Runners, Walkers and Sleepwalkers T-Shirts will be available for pick-up after Race Day at Mothers Matter Headquarters in Sewell or mailed via USPS at a $7.50 flat fee.  Participants will receive pick-up details after registering.

As the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation’s primary fundraising event, proceeds from the Mothers Matter 5K directly support our Emergency and Education Grants and Mothers Matter programs that touch the lives of thousands of women every year; women struggling to make ends meet, women with critically ill children or fighting illness themselves, women working towards a better life for their families or those who need ray of sunshine in their lives.

This year, the number of women and the urgency of their needs is overwhelming.   With government and social service agencies stretched to the limit, our Emergency Grants are often a real lifeline to women with critical financial needs and no where else to turn for help. 

Every year in addition to LRAF Emergency Assistance and Education grants, our Mothers Matter program distributes 4,500-5,000 special Mothers Matter gift bags including Comfort Gift Bags for women undergoing cancer surgery or chemotherapy, SPA gift bags for women undergoing radiation therapy, "We Care"  gift bags for Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms with essential items for moms with children in NICU and newborn units, Helping Hands gift bags for women in need, and our signature Mother’s Day gift bags to brighten the day for hundreds of area mothers, grandmothers and caregivers.  

The LRAF is proud to be able to provide a helping hand during this unprecedented time when number of women in need and the criticality of their hardship is greater than ever.   

Our  all-volunteer organization could not achieve all that we do without the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our volunteers.  We are grateful to all who support the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation / Mothers Matter and share with all the joy of knowing that together we are making a real difference in the lives of the neediest among us.     Together We Really Can !
