About the event

Register now for the 2nd annual Ride the Ridge Gravel Grinder sponsored by the MHBC and Fishkill Farms, course designed by Laura Kelly.

1st and foremost bring your family. Fishkill Farms will open at their normal operating hours. Your family can enjoy fall at the farm. Hay Rides, Hot Apple Cider, fresh donuts and fresh baked goods.  Hot food, hopefully live music and a variety of NY State Beer and Cider.

What’s this ride like??? Think King Kong climbs the Empire State Building and then some!

The 40 mile route nicknamed King Kong has a punishing 4250 ft of gain.  The short route Lil Kong is 27 miles and 3000 ft of gain.

The ride begins and ends at the famous Fishkill Farms in Hopewell Junction NY.

After a paved rollout you will hit your first punishing climb. The course will bring you to explore the area of the Fishkill Ridge which encompasses Southern Dutchess and northern Putnam Counties. You will be riding on some of the very roads in which Revolutionary War history was made. You will meander up and down valleys and possibly some multiple use trails within Fahnestock State Park, as long as conditions allow.

The terrain will be dirt roads, multiple use trails and a little bit of pavement to tie it together. A road bike won’t cut it here!  E gravel bikes or mountain bikes are welcome. A tire with of 38c is recommended.

Other than 1 rest stop the ride is self supported. Carry what you need!  Helmets are required.

Fishkill Farms will provide food and beverages post ride for a fee. Cider, Hard Cider and Beer from Sloop Brewery are always available at the outside bar.
