About the event
Founded in 1982 by Robert J. Aaron, the triathlon continues to support pancreatic cancer research, benefiting the Lustgarten Foundation. Following the original course, the event takes place in Montauk, offering challenging swim, bike, and run segments through iconic routes including views of the Montauk Lighthouse. Participants must complete the course within 3 hours and 55 minutes, with rules in place such as mandatory hardshell helmets on the bike course. The event requires USAT membership, allowing on-site race registration. Accommodations are available nearby, and the race proceeds come rain or shine. No refunds or transfers are provided.
