Marathon international du Mont Fuji

I ran my first marathon here. It was the perfect marathon, the highlight was of course the course itself (pun intended). The weather was fantastic, the sky was clear, you can see the Mount Fuji in all it's glory in the first 5 km. Next, the course took you around Kawaguchiko lakes, where it led you through the iconic autumn tunnel where you ran under the foliages of momiji and ginko leaves. There were photographers that took photos on those iconic places. The support from the local populace was great as well! There was students orceshtra performing throughout the course. The hardest thing on Fuji Marathon was the climb just after the half marathon mark, it was so steep that I couldn't regain my pace afterwards. Do note to include hill training for your race here!

Perfect weather conditions, amazing location, beautiful Mt. Fuji view along the way, runners around the world and a good route with cheerful crowds!!! What else do you want? I only did the "Around Lake Kawaguchiko 29km race"... I guess I need to get back there again and do the full Marathon :)

This was my first marathon ever! I was so happy to run it. The view was breathtaking. During the run, everyone stopped to take a photo of themselves with Mt. Fuji in the background. The weather was perfect on the day I ran it. Mt. Fuji was very photogenic, the sun was not shying away and the red leaves were starting to show!

The route was lovely and the weather was great. It was good to see so many people from so many different places coming to run at this iconic landmark.
