The Hops Trot 5K is back! It all started when we had a crazy idea. A 5K with flavor. That flavor… BEER. What better way to hydrate during a 5K than with Beer? The 8th installment of Atlantic City's fastest-growing 5K returns Saturday, April 13, 2024 and tickets are on sale NOW!! We wanted everyone to experience the best beer spots in and around Atlantic City, and cap it off with an incredible time at The Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival. Start the day with 3.1 miles along the boardwalk and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at the Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival featuring 150+ breweries and a once-in-a-lifetime musical performance. Band to be announced 11/27/2023!

The Hops Trot is open to avid runners and amateur runners, avid beer drinkers, and amateur beer drinkers. Needless to say, this is a 5K with flavor and you need to be there! Starting at the Atlantic City Convention Center at 10:00am, runners will be given their first brew. Trotters will race along the boardwalk and through Atlantic City, stopping along the way at some of AC’s finest watering holes where they will be encouraged to drink a 2 oz beer before proceeding on. We might even throw in some obstacles and loopholes along the way! The finish line will be inside the festival just in time for Session 2 of The Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival. Costumes encouraged!

The race will start at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Participants must be 21+. The Hops Trot 5K Run is brought to you by CK Running & Good Time Tricycle!

PRE-RACE PACKET PICKUP:

Location TBD! Packet pickup will be held on April 12 - 4:30pm - 8:00pm. 

There will be limited packet pickup outside of the Atlantic City Convention Center from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on race day, Saturday, April 13th.

All participants will receive their Hops Trot 5k race bib and beer koozie at packet pickup. Finisher's medals and exclusive Hops Trot 5k pint glasses will be passed out at the finish line.
 

Price Increase Schedule:

10/26 - 11/27: $110 for 5k+festival, or $45 for 5k add-on (this is for anyone who already purchased their ticket for Session 2 of the Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival for Saturday, April 13 only)

11/28 - 2/20: $125 for 5k+festival or $50 for 5k add-on (this is for anyone who already purchased their ticket for Session 2 of the Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival for Saturday, April 13 only)

2/21 - 4/13: $140 for 5k+festival or $55 for 5k add-on (this is for anyone who already purchased their ticket for Session 2 of the Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival for Saturday, April 13 only) 

Other FAQs:

Q. Can I just run the 5k only?

A. Since the 5k ends right at the festival at the Atlantic City Convention Center, all runners must register for the 5k and the festival.  No exceptions.

Q. What does a 5k add-on option mean?

A. This is for anyone who wants to register for the 5k and has already purchased their ticket for Session 1 of the Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival for Saturday, April 13.

Q. Will there be gear check?

A. Yes, there will be gear check that will be at the finish line at the Atlantic City Convention Center.  However, we encourage you to run with essentials only so you can save some time after the race and go straight to the festival!

Q. Is there a hotel room block?

A. Yes, we have a room block secured at the Holiday Inn Express Atlantic City West:  Just call them up and mention the code HT5 for the Hops Trot 5k!

Q. What type of snacks are at the finish line?

A. New this year! We'll have Like Air Snacks at the finish line for you! Puffcorn is made from non-GMO cornmeal and every bite melts in your mouth! It is gluten free, made with nothing artificial, contains no hard hulls or kernels and is only 50 calories per cup.  Trust us- this stuff is delicious and very addicting!
