Love Runs the Region 5K

Love Runs the Region 5K is a race celebrating the local LGBTQ+ community and the supporting communities. This race will be all about celebrating who we are together! This race will be held at the Lake County Fairgrounds and meet at Shelter 2 (The one next to the playground.) The race will begin at 6 PM and depending on how many people signup, we will split groups to safely proceed with the race. There will be an awards ceremony after the race. The price to run will be $30 and will go to 3 great causes. LGBTQ Northwest Indiana and PFLAG Crown Point are both nonprofit organizations who work to promote the LGBTQ+ community viability, acceptance and equality. The other part of the money will go to my club, The Alliance, at Crown Point High School. I founded The Alliance as a safe, unifying space for all students. WEATHER POLICY

The safety of our athletes, spectators and volunteers is our primary concern. In the event of inclement weather, every attempt will be made to preserve the safety of everyone involved, and complete the race as scheduled.

In the event of:

Rain - the event will NOT be cancelled due to rain alone. Race officials reserve the right to delay or shorten the race based on heavy rain.

Severe Weather (eg: lightning, tornado, high winds) - If there is severe weather, the race may be delayed as race officials consult public safety officers. If there is more than a reasonable delay, or if conditions persist, race officials reserve the right to shorten or cancel the race. The race will NOT be moved to an alternative date. Participants should seek safe shelter should severe weather develop during the race. 

Entry fees are non-refundable.
Please check our Facebook Page before the race for any changes or cancellations. If you are already at the event, listen to the announcer about any weather changes that may occur.
ENTRY FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED IN THE EVENT OF CANCELLATION.
ENTRY FEES MAY NOT BE APPLIED TO FUTURE LOVE RUNS THE REGION, PFLAG CROWN POINT OR LGBTQ NORTHWEST INDIANA EVENTS.

Our goal is to give the runners and walkers participating in our event a competitive racing experience in compliance with CDC, state and local guidelines. 
Please keep in mind that your cooperation and adherence to all safe distancing practices is the key to us being able to safely offer competitive events.
• Participants must follow all CDC safe-distancing guidelines.
• Participants must be in good health and symptom-free from any illness for at least 14 days prior to the event.

ALL REGISTRATION FEES ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE.
