À propos de l'événement

Categories:

Full Hundo: This is the whole enchilada. Don't select this category without knowing that you are in for one hell of a challenge. This route is somewhere between 7,000 and 10,000 vertical feet of climbing (depending on the gps) and has broken many very experienced cyclists.

3/4 Hundo: Here is the ride for those of you who are on the fence between doing the whole ride and the shorter course. You will still get a great ride, some gravel, great views, and quite a challenge.

Although this is a shorter distance than the full hundo, please be aware that this is a significant challenge for many experienced cyclists.

Metric Hundo:  If you want to come out and give this ride a try but you don't have the time, or the hundo is just a bit too much to bite off for you, this is a perfect ride.

A lovely 40. We added this category for the folks that want to enjoy the event but do not want to go all the way quite yet. This course is a ton of fun and will get you back in time for lunch.

There is plenty of gravel, elevation, scenery, and smiles to make it totally worth trying this ride.

Just because this is a shorter distance, do not expect it to be a walk in the park. There are some monster climbs and some challenging descents on this course.

Please read the notes below:

Welcome to the Event Page for the Lu Lacka Wyco Hundo 2025. This is the 13th running of this event and we are so happy to have you back. Thanks for giving this a try or for coming back for another year. I hope you have a great ride, but before then, take a look at all of the notes below. All of the info you need is laid out on this page.

1. Registration: Registration will open to the public at 12:01am on October 1, 2024 for a limited time.  If you want to make it in, make sure you are in line. If the category you want is sold out, try another one or jump into the waitlist. Last year almost everyone who stayed on the waitlist made it into the ride.

2. Waitlist: If you registered for the waitlist, please do not contact and ask where you are on the list. If someone drops out, you will be added and you will get a confirmation from Bike Reg. If you change your plans and do not want to be on the waitlist, remove yourself. If you are next in line and a spot opens up, you will be moved into the category and charged the full amount for the position.

3. Transfer/Cancel: Bike reg changed how they handle transfers, so you can now do it on your own for a limited amount of time. To prevent too many people from grabbing spots they won't use, there is a $15 tranfer fee if you change your mind about the ride.

There is only one category for people who might want to cancel. If you are not in that category, you can not cancel your entry or get a refund. We have too many problems with cancelations/transfers and refunds that take too much away from planning the event that we can't continue to offer those type of accommodations. The "I want in, but might want out" category offers a bailout for those that have complicated schedules and might not be able to make it. You will be able to get most of your money back and someone else will be able to ride. That is pretty cool and way more than most rides offer. PLEASE SEE DETAILED CANCELATION INFO AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS SECTION.

4. General: Please make sure you have the proper physical training, the proper type of bike, the proper mindset for a long hard day in the saddle, and some technical acumen to take care of yourself incase you have an equipment malfunction. This ride covers a vast geographic area so if you are in trouble, you might have to wait a while for someone to come bail you out.

This is a rain or shine event. There are no refunds for your entry.

The promoter retains the right to remove any rider that behaves in an unsafe or undesirable manner at any time. No refunds will be issued for improper behavior.

5. Friends, Family,Fans, and Supporters: We love when friends and family come out to support riders. This ride was founded on some solid friendships and support from my family. We will never forget that, so we want your people to come join us as well. They just need to follow a few rules. 1. Don't block the roads if you follow along in a vehicle. 2. Drive safely around all riders. 3. Come to the after party, but buy a meal ticket if you want to eat. 4. Clean up after yourself.

6: Volunteers: We need you! This ride does not happen without tons of volunteers so please come and join us in all of the fun. We feed you, put you in the raffle, get you a cool shirt, and give you a fun job that shouldn't take all day. If you volunteer, you could ride next year for free (non transferable)! We do have some volunteer jobs that will also allow you to reid. Get in touch for more info.

7: Charity: The Lu Lacka Wyco Hundo believes in giving back. One dollar of each entry is donated to the The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League. In addition, the ride makes a donation to the Keystone Youth Mountain Bike Team. You will see many of the students and their parents out volunteering on the event weekend.

8: Merchandise: We will have the chance to buy different types of merchandise over the next few months. We always strive to bring you some awesome goodies and this year is no different.

9: Lodging  We are working on a lodging sponsor
There are also plenty of other places to stay in the region. A large group camps Frances Slocum state park each year.

10. Starrucca Crossing  is a gravel ride in NEPA that shares some of the same roads as LLWH, but it takes you out a bit further than LLWH ever could. It is a bit smaller ride, but tons of fun.

11. GJE?  George J. Engleman is my dad. He is a big reason why this ride even exists. He gave me the love of exploration and of riding my bike. He was my number one volunteer. He passed away in November of 2016. I and the ride miss him dearly. If you see his initials on some merch, know that he is/was a very special person.
