Memorial Day 5K/10K/15K - Rapid City

In honor of our Military come out & join us Memorial Day!

 

The Memorial Day 5K/10K and 15K is coming to Rapid City!

Memorial Day is about remembering the soldiers who died while on Active Duty in the Military. In their honor, we are offering all Active and Retired Military a *Complimentary race (5K, 10K or 15K)" on May 27, 2024.  Come join us and pay tribute to those that have served & continue to serve & protect our country!

We start at 8:00 AM in Founders Park with an amazing crowd full of energy.  Scenic course, Finisher Medals, awesome race shirts, & Awards for the Top 3 Overalls, Top 3 Masters Overalls, Top 3 Grand Master Overalls, Top 3 Senior Master Overalls, and Top 3 in all the regular 5 year Age Groups.

Or, maybe you saw the shirt and said:  "Sweet, I want one!"  Then, the virtual race is for you.  Run when & where you want, just submit your time by end of Race Day.  We'll ship out virtual packages the Monday after event date! *Shipping available for continental US only.

Step 1

Get excited, grab some friends & pups to join you!  Sign up, and register for the Memorial Day Virtual 5K, 10K or Half!!

Step 2

Download your Custom Digital Bib!  Hydrate and get ready to get moving!

Step 3

Get out there and run or walk! You can run at the park, your favorite route in your neighborhood; anywhere you want.   Please remember to be safe!

Step 4

HAVE FUN!~

Share your distance, a selfie, or a picture along your race route, and use the hashtag #MemorialDay5K #MemorialDay10K #MemorialDay15K #fivestarrunning

Step 5

Submit your results directly on RunSignUp.com through your Profile or registration.

You can submit your race time HERE on the Virtual Results page anytime through end of day 5/27.

Step 6

View your Virtual Results HERE Monday after the Event Date.  

  Awards & Medals

Awards in the 5K/10K/15K as follows:

Top 3 Overall Male & Female  Top 3 Overall Masters (40+)  Top 3 Overall Grand Master (50+)  Top 3 Overall Senior Master (60+) Top 3 in each age group (10 & under - 75+)

All finishers will receive a Finisher Medal for 2024!  This will be the 1st of three finisher medals for our Patriotic Series so collect all THREE!

 

Course & Timing

All three events will start and finish at Founders Park. All routes are an out and back, with the 10K & 15K doing multiple laps.

All events will have a timed start & finish.

  Groups and Teams

Running is more F-U-N together, even if we're far apart! 

Grab your friends, co-workers, neighbors or family and participate as a TEAM.  Your TEAM can be local or across the states; virtual participants will have their shirts shipped!  Teams of 5 or more receive discounts off their registration, discounts below.

5+:  $2.50 off

11+:  3.75 off

21+:  $5.00 off

51+:  $6.25 off

100+:  $7.50 off

  Packet/Bib Pickup

You can sleep in a few extra minutes on race morning; just show up with enough time to get in the start coral.

Bib Mail Out**:

For $5.00 you can have your bib mailed straight to your front door.  NOTE: bibs will be sent out via USPS.  We'll be sending them out periodically, last mailing Monday before Race Week.  Please ensure you put in your complete mailing address.  We are not be responsible for any returned, lost or misplaced mail-out bibs.   Bib Mail-outs are non-refundable.  

*Not responsible for lost mail & bibs left at home.  **Replacement bibs will be charged on-site for $2.00.

Race Day Pickup:

Check in opens at 7:00 AM on race morning.  Be sure to arrive closer to 7:00 AM as the Race will Start promptly at 8:00 AM.

  Championships & Turkey Trot

This is one of your first opportunities to qualify for (1) free entry into our 2024 Turkey Trot & also to qualify for our Championship 5K/10K!
 

All participants will automatically qualify for (1) FREE entry into one of the 2024 Five Star Thanksgiving Turkey Trots. See event website
 

Top finishers will also have the opportunity to earn a spot in the Championships held on January 5, 2025. The number of spots available is based on the total registration.  See event website

  Event Courtesy & Refund Policy

Our events are designed to be fun for the entire family. With that in mind; any competitor, spectator, parent, volunteer, or sponsor, exhibiting unsportsmanlike
conduct or interfering with the positive, competitive atmosphere of the event will be immediately disqualified, asked to leave the venue and course immediately with no refunds and will be disqualified.

All registrations are final. There are no refunds, deferments, or transfers.

Event will take place rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather, we will cancel for the safety of the participants...there are no refunds in this case.

Participants that do not show up to race/event forfeit their right to any swag.

No COVID-19 Refunds.  If unforeseen circumstances arise due to COVID-19, including any Federal or State Health Emergency, refunds will not be provided.  The event will go 100% Virtual & shirts will be shipped to participants.
