ROJR 2024

Day of Registration  + $10.00

The 2024 ROJR (Ride On Jeremy’s Ride) will be held Saturday, Oct. 5 with riders rolling out of a converted one room schoolhouse in Shreve, Ohio at 8:00 am.  A 75 mile gravel/paved mix will be for solo riders participating in the Ohio gravel series. If you are not a serious contender, we encourage you to grab 2 or 3 friends and form a 3 or 4 person team and have some fun with the 55 mile route.  You decide if the 4th person will help or hinder the team. Time stops when your third person crosses the finish line. There will be some "challenges to be completed" along the way. This route will include about 30% gravel.

This event is an unmarshalled and unsanctioned event.  We will have limited support and aid on the course so please prepare for the worst.  The course is NOT be marked, you must trust your GPS.  It is an open road to other traffic and you must ride according to all traffic laws and signs.  We strongly recommend a reliable GPS unit such as the Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt for navigation.

The 75 mile route has a good mix of gravel and pavement with some difficult climbs.   You will be rolling thru some of the most scenic countryside Ohio has to offer.  Tires recommendation at least a 32mm.  Some suggestions are WTB Exposure, WTB Riddler, Hutchinson Sector, Panaracer Gravel King SK.  We previewed the course on bikes and our GPS had us at over 7,000 of elevation gain.  The difficult part of the course is from mile 30 - 60 with over 50% gravel total. There will be 2 aid stations with Water & Nutrition.

Description

The ROJR is a “gentleman’s race,” and spans several counties that offer some of the best gravel roads in the state.  You will meander past scenic farms, through shady glens and into areas so dense and deserted you will be sure you took a wrong turn! To finish this route, trust your GPS. Keep a close eye on the weather as well as we’ve seen sleet and 70’s for this event. October weather is uncertain if anything.

The ROJR 55 can be done as an individual event or as a team of three or four. There will be several challenges along the way for time bonuses.

Check in starts at 7:00 a.m.
The ride honors the life of Jeremy Grimm. Grimm was a Cat I racer who lost his life in 2017 in a bicycle/truck accident. He left a wife and two daughters.

Food

Light breakfast from 7:00 - 7:45 am

3 aid stations (water, nutrition)

Lunch/Dinner from 12:30 - 5:00    Featuring Speicher Chicken BBQ and cold beverages from Bowman Beverages

RULES

There will be plenty of circumstances along the course that will not be covered in the rules. When these circumstances arise, code-of-conduct best practices apply. Let's honor each other as gentlemen and gentlewomen.

To be considered an official finishing team, and to be eligible for the grand prize and trophy, your team must complete the entire 55 mile course. If your team makes a wrong turn the team must go back to where the team left the route and continue from there. The ROJR 2024 course presents challenges throughout the race! Any portion of the map left unridden will disqualify the team from any awards.

Your team's time will stop when the third member crosses the finish line.

The underlying spirit of this event is to have fun while challenging yourself alongside good friends. The course terrain serves as a team motivator for overcoming obstacles together.

BE THE REASON SOMEBODY FINISHES THE RACE, NOT THE REASON SOMEBODY DOESN'T.

ROJR ON EVERYBODY!
