Take note of 2 NEW items for 2024
1. Time cutoff.
Rule of Three is not your average 110 mile bike ride. Think road race, meets gravel, meets MTB, meets adventure race all rolled into one! Our course takes significantly longer to complete than an average 110 mile gravel event. If you've never done this race before and you're not sure if you can complete a 110 mile RO3 route in less than 12 hours, we strongly suggest that you choose the 50 mile option-it's still a beast! For the 110 miler, we will have a time “check out” on course that you must pass by a certain time. If you haven't made the time cutoff you'll need to call for someone for a ride or wait for our Broomwagon, 37 North Expeditions, to come pick you up.We want you to stand up to the challenge but we must keep the safety of all our riders top priority. We aim to have the last riders finish by 8pm.2. 200+ Mile Category:
Begin Friday, May 17th and circumnavigate Beaver Lake, hitting 4 different trail systems. 30 hr time cutoff.Completely self-supported. You will need to come prepared with everything you need to complete the race safely and successfully without support from Rule of Three or other people. You'll need to study the route, find resupply stops (gas stations, cafes, etc.) for nutrition and bring a cell phone in case of emergency. You'll need to either own a SPOT or Garmin Inreach GPS device or rent one from Follow My Challenge. You'll need to complete your registration by signing up for tracking with Follow My Challenge. Their fees are $30 for tracking (for those with their own devices) or $80 for those needing rental SPOT GPS devices and tracking.
You will receive an email with the link to register with Follow My Challenge after your Rule of Three registration. Solo or team of three.
Teams
110 and 50 mile 3 person teams take off (time trial style) in 1 minute increments. The team rides the route together, stopping at checkpoints to gather their "proof" and they must finish together.
200+ mile 3 person teams will ride the route together and must finish together. One SPOT tracker needed per team.
Inclement Weather Policy
Rule of Three will happen if the "creek don't rise" and if it does we'll route around it! Northwest Arkansas weather can be unpredictable to say the least. Come prepared for freezing and hot temps. Blue skies and dark skies. Dry and wet conditions. Buckle up...no matter what, it'll be a fun ride!
Routes
The Rule of Three routes are new every year and we try to hold off on route revelations until right before the event….the element of surprise is a nice touch.
