The Veteran's Day Cross Country 4k Race

Veterans Day 4K XC Race

The Northport Running Club presents the 44th Annual Veterans Day 4K Cross Country Race. The race will be held at Sunken Meadow State Park. 

Proceeds from this race support the hospitalized and homeless veterans on Long Island. Last year's race proceeds were used to purchase weight training equipment for the physical therapy department at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Northport. We also made a donation to the United Veterans Beacon House, an organization that assists veterans with housing, employment, nutrition and legal services.

Veterans are encouraged to wear their dog tags! We will set up a table to display commemorative flags of deceased veterans.  If you have one, please bring it for our honor table.

Race Course:
New course this year to be announced. The race course is 4K (2.48 Miles) run at Sunken Meadow State Park   NOTE: Absolutely no pets or baby joggers allowed on the course!

Registration fees:

4k Cross Country Run

All Entry Fees        $15 for Veterans or active Military;  $15 for youth 13 and under.  $25.00 for all Others.  Increases to $30.00 after November 4th. Processing Fees additional.  Day of race registration $35.  

Healthy People 0.5K Fun Run/Walk            FREE! 

Packet/Number Pick-up:  Registration & packet pickup available 8:30am – 9:30am race day at Sunken Meadow State Park in the East Concession building on the boardwalk.

Post Race Festivities:

Post race snacks will be followed by the award ceremony and raffles.  Napper Tandy's invites all eligible entrants to present their race number at their 229 Laurel Avenue, Northport location for a complimentary beverage after the race.

Individual Awards:$100 Gift Card Awards from Sayville Smithtown Running Company to the top male and female overall; top male and female masters; and top male and female veteran.

Age-group awards will be presented to the top 3 male and female in the following categories: 13 & under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-75, 76 - 79, 80 & Over.
There will be no duplication of awards.

Free Give-Away to the first 250 registrants!

HEALTHY PEOPLE RUN/WALK:
A 0.5K (0.3 mile) fun run/walk will be held, starting at 9:30am. Entry is FREE this year but you must register.  A dog tag award will be presented to all finishers.
