Wakefield 5k Beer & Cinnarun/walk

The Wakefield 5k Beer and Cinn-Run/Walk will be held Saturday, July 2nd at 9 am. The starting point for this location is at the corner of 8th and Johnson street in front of Wakefield Community Schools. Packet pickup will open at 8 am the day of the race in front of the school. The registration cost is $25 (plus a registration fee) a t-shirt, beer, and cinnamon roll are included with purchase and available for pickup the day of the race. Alcohol will be served following the race at the golf course. Beverages will also be available after the race to those who are underage. All runners and walkers from every age group are welcome to participate! The course will begin at Wakefield Community Schools and continue onto Michener Street where runners will run by the tennis and basketball courts as well as the baseball fields and onto the town running/walking trail. The trail will take runners to roughly the 3-mile mark in which they will complete the rest of the race and finish on the Logan Valley Golf Course. Transportation will be provided to take runners back to Wakefield Community Schools after the race. All race proceeds will go to the Wakefield Development Fund. Lodging is available in nearby cities of Wayne, Sioux City, and Norfolk. Camping spots are available in Wakefield as well as in Ponca State Park.
