VERY IMPORTANTThere will be lifeguards with safety kayaks/surfboards. The junior triathlete swim course will be positioned close to shore along the shoreline, however, there may be a situation where a junior competitor may not be able to stand or otherwise touch the bottom. Accordingly, the event is open only to those children who meet the age restriction and are competent swimmers who are able to swim the appropriate distance for their age unaided. Parents/Guardians will be required to certify as to swimming ability on the entry waiver.

Individuals The Sprint Distance Individual Triathlon (Female and Male) is for any athlete aged 16 and over. (Note that an athlete who will be 15 as at 31 December 2024 can apply to the BTA Executive for permission to enter the Sprint Distance)Awards: Individual Event – 1st, 2nd and 3rd female and male overall.The results will be further split into the following age groups: 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 & over (no additional awards). Teams Awards: Teams: 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams overall.Teams will be Open Teams – i.e. can comprise Mixed, All Female or All MaleAll members of a Team must be age 16 or over. (Note that an athlete who will be 15 as at 31 December 2024 can apply to the BTA Executive for permission to enter as a team member in the Sprint Distance).Teams should generally comprise 3 individuals, one doing the swim, one doing the bike and one doing the run. However It is possible for an athlete doing the Individual race to be the swimmer for a team – such individual will be required to do a separate registration as an individual, as well as register as a member of a team.Mandatory race briefing for all participants in the Sprint Distance Race (individuals and teams) near swim start at the time stated above
Registration/Packet Pick-up Registration and packet pick up will be from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm at Azura on Saturday, 26 October 2024 – 90 South Road, Warwick.Included in your race packet will be:
A set of race stickers with your number – one for the seat post on your bike, three for your helmet (front, left and right), a set of Tattoos (comprising 4 tattoos of your race number and instructions how to apply them), and the mandatory swim cap.
For Teams: the swimmer wears the swim cap, the cyclist uses the bike seat post and helmet stickers, and the runner applies the tattoos.
General You must have a bike in GOOD WORKING ORDERThis is a non-draft legal race; no drafting will be permitted on the bike; time penalties will be assessedJunior athletes may use a mountain bike or a road bike (no training wheels permitted)All athletes doing the swim must wear the swim cap provided with the packet, and must be able to swim the relevant distance in deep water and unaidedYou must have a CPSC or other accredited approved bike helmet that fits and clips up, and must be worn during the bike legNo outside assistance for competitors permittedAll competitors must be members of the Bermuda Triathlon Association (BTA) Entry Fees include a $10 BTA one day fee. If you are a member of the BTA Club this fee will be Discounted at CheckoutAll competitors must follow triathlon rules outlined on www.bermudatriathlon.com No headphones to be worn while an athlete is competingFor Adults (16 plus): Road bikes (with or without aero bars), Time-Trial bikes, aero helmets and disc wheels are Permitted Wetsuit use depends on the water and air temperatures one hour prior to race start Full course maps appear as a separate menu tab above and are available for downloadIt is each athlete’s responsibility to know the course for the race she/he is participating in – if an athlete does not complete the correct course she/he will be disqualified
