About the event
The 2023 Earth Day People Chase 2-mile Run is essentially an out-and-back run along tree-lined Colleton Avenue in Aiken’s beautiful Historic District. It is the lead-off event for the Earth Day 2023 program sponsored by the City of Aiken’s Energy and Environmental Committee.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The run starts on Newberry Street beside the George Funeral Home. It finishes on Newberry Street beside the water fountain across from the Aiken Performing Arts Center.
PACKET PICKUP/LATE REGISTRATION:
Saturday, April 22, 2023- 8:00 AM- 8:30 AM - Packet Pick-up and Registration
RACE DAY SCHEDULE:
8:00 AM- 8:30 AM - Packet Pick-up and Registration
9:10 AM - 2-Mile Run
10:00 AM - Awards
REGISTRATION AND FEES:
$10 until April 8, 2023
$15 after April 8, 2023/ Day-of entrants will be accepted by paying with cash or check.
T-SHIRTS/MEDALS:
All runners registered by April 8th will receive an Earth Day T-shirt and a medal upon finishing. All participants registering after April 8th will receive a t-shirt while supplies last. T-Shirt Sizes include: YM, YL, AS, AM, AL, AXL, AXXL.
DIVISION AWARDS:
Gift certificates, compliments of Fleet Feet in Augusta, will be awarded to first-place male and female finishers in the following age groups:
Up to age 12 50 to age 59
13 to age 19 60 to age 69
20 to age 29 70 and above
30 to age 39
40 to age 49
TIMING/POSTING OF RESULTS:
Timing and results will be provided by 2 Girls and a Clock, LLC. Results are posted on www.runsignup.com and 2 Girls and a Clock Race and Timing Services Facebook Page within 24 hours of the event.
