About the event
Welcome to Vietnam Trail Marathon, the third race in the Vietnam Trail Series by Topas, organisers of Vietnam Mountain Marathon and Vietnam Jungle Marathon.
This race takes place in Moc Chau, an area famed for tea plantations and peach blossom orchards. The event will take place at the very height of beach blossom season, creating a running spectacle like no other.
The route is the result of our research deep into the hills. We have created a course which is almost entirely very runnable trail covering a huge variety of landscapes.
You will discover ethnic minority villages that no car can access hidden deep in rugged terrain. You will run through flower fields, tea plantations and orchards. You will share the trails with local farmers, horses, donkeys, buffalo, wild pigs and more.
Run Vietnam Trail Marathon and discover hidden trails, venturing way beyond the trodden path.

Course highlights
70km This ultra has everything that Moc Chau has to offer. Join our 70km and you will experience the most remote and the most challenging terrain of VTM. This is a hard ultra, but the beauty of the orchards, jungle and wild nature combined with the warm welcome of villagers make it one of the most rewarding you will ever complete. 42km Join our marathon distance and you will venture through beautiful, remote, hidden villages that are inaccessible by car. The course includes everything from runnable paths to technical sections rarely used, even by locals. Experience orchards, jungle, farmland, tea plantations and a highlight: the famous welcome of the checkpoint 5 villagers! 21km A stunning route including orchards, jungle, grand vistas and minority villages. After an initial steep hill, this 21km is very runnable, with just a couple of short, technical climbs. It’s a great first 21km for newer runners, or a potentially fast course for mountain runners aiming for speed. 10km Ideal for those looking for a shorter, fast race, our 10km has been designed to include Moc Chau’s beautiful orchards and stunning tea fields. 5km Ideal for new runners and families, our 5km distance features the classic scenery of beautiful Moc Chau, but cuts out the longer climbs and more technical trail.

Markus Gnirck claimed victory with a time of 04:27:28. Coming in second was Aleksandr Firsov (04:49:48). Rounding out the top three was Liam Shay Fitzpatrick with a time of 05:03:09.
For the women, it was Vanja Cnops who took the top spot in 04:56:37 . Joane Etienne earned runner-up honours with a time of 05:15:06. The third place went to Lèo Thị Tình with a time of 05:17:31

Quang Trần outpaced more then 145 runners to win in 07:06:56. Coming in second was Trọng Nhơn Đỗ (07:51:07). The third place went to Koichi Hirose with a time of 08:25:48
In the ladies race, Đường Nguyễn Thị finished first in 10:33:12 . She finished une heure et 8 minutes 55 secondes ahead of Thuy Dung Nguyen. Toshie Noda got the third place in 11:47:27.

Sản Phạm Tiên won the race with a time of 01:51:55. Coming in second was Hùng Nguyễn Tiến (01:58:40). Văn Chuyền Nông got the third place in 02:07:48.
In the ladies race, it was Hồng Lệ Phạm Thị (02:28:03) taking the top spot, ahead of Hằng Lê Thẩm Thúy (02:37:43). While Tanya Lee-parker came in third at 02:46:27
