Route was ok but event was very badly organised. We got yelled at, told to move over and even worse, when we got to the finish line they had run out of medals so we missed out!

10KM track was flat, but not well organised as shared with marathon runners so had to move over/off for bikes, cars and runners, meaning we had to stop and lose pace.

As a Victorian I had to run this race. It's epic to finish in the MCG. Melbourne marathon is the biggest in Australia (slightly bigger than Gold Coast), so a fairly big crowd. Nice time of the year to race, so unlikely to be too hot. The half marathon is great, you run around Albert Park lake and back, finishing in the MCG. The full race goes around the lake, then down to St Kilda and along the bay in a big loop before back up St Kilda Rd and into the MCG. What I don't like is the gentle incline up St Kilda Rd which you don't want at the end of the race, and it does a backwards loop around Linlithgow Ave at about the 37 Km mark which is a bit soul destroying because you run back away from the MCG for a few Kms before finally entering the stadium. I'd prefer they put that loop on the outbound leg, not on the return.

It's great to finish in the MCG but that gentle uphill up St Kilda Rd is not the greatest way to finish a marathon.

Melbourne is a really cool city to run a Marathon. This event is pretty flat and covers some of the most iconic landmarks we have. The downside is the loooooong out & back stretch along St. Kilda Rd - it seems endless. Great to finish the race on the iconic MCG!

This was my 2nd Marathon event. It was an unusually hot day for October which left many runners without enough hydration. There were casualties! Overall a good marathon which just gets bigger over time

Atmosphere was pretty amazing as you finish the run into the MCG. It was unexpectedly hot but it was a good run.

The course was nice and flat, plenty of good views when running out of the city towards the coast. There was a great atmosphere for the duration of the race and plenty of support. Finishing in the MCG was an absolute highlight for my first marathon, I'll definitely be back.
